Dr. Marco Caffio
Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Marco Caffio is an accomplished scientist with more than 20 years of experience across academia and industry.
In 2016, he co-founded Integrated Graphene, now iGii, following pioneering work in the development of three-dimensional carbon nanomaterials. Marco holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry, specialising in surface science, and has extensive experience in the design and application of advanced materials and devices.
His work has focused on translating novel materials science into scalable technologies across electrochemical sensing, energy storage, printed electronics and catalysis. This includes the development of Gii, iGii’s proprietary 3D porous carbon nanomaterial, and its application across sensing, battery and other emerging technology platforms.
As Chief Scientific Officer, Marco leads iGii’s scientific strategy and works with the company’s scientists and engineers to translate innovative research from laboratory development through to scalable manufacturing and commercial application.
